1. COS’E’ IL BURNING MAN?
🇮🇹 Dopo l’articolo dedicato al Coachella, ecco uno “zoom” su un altro festival altrettanto stravagante e surreale: il Burnin gman. Dal 1991 ogni anno, a settembre, il Black Rock Desert in Nevada diventa davvero infuocato grazie a questo evento che consiste nell’installazione di una città provvisoria, la Black Rock city, e al termine dell’evento viene bruciata una statua a forma umana gigante.
1. WHAT IS BURNING MAN?
🇬🇧 After our post about Coachella, we want to “zoom” on another freaky and surreal festival: the Burnin gman. Since 1991 every year, on september, the Black Rock Desert in Nevada burns thanks to this event that consists in an installation of a temporary city called Black Rock City in the middle of the desert and at it ends with the burning of a gigantic sculpture.
2. LE COMPARSE “VIP” DEL BURNING MAN
🇮🇹 A differenza del Coachella e degli altri grandi festival qui non ci sono rock star famose e artisti di fama, ma persone e artisti sconosciuti con la voglia di dare vita alla propria fantasia e immaginazione. Tuttavia quest’anno la famosa cantante Katy Perry ha fatto uno strappo alla regola pubblicando sul proprio profilo Instagram un video dove cade in modo buffo da un segway e che dimostra la sua partecipazione all’evento (ma in “libera uscita” e non come performer ufficiale).
2. “VIP” BURNING MAN
🇬🇧 Burning man is different from other festivals because there aren’t famous rock-stars or big artists, but only normal people that want to show their fantasy and imagination with every kind of shows. Actually, this year, the pop star Katy Perry bended the rules sharing on her official Instagram profile a funny video where she fall down from a segway (she was there as normal person and not as official performer!)
3. LA BLACK ROCK CITY
🇮🇹 La struttura urbanistica è progettata accuratamente con tanto di strade e spazi delimitati. E come una vera città esistono negozi, attività e ci si può perfino sposare! Molti interpretano l’evento come una manifestazione anarchica ma in realtà ci sono regole ben precise da rispettare tra cui colpiscono soprattutto il commercio solo tramite baratto o dono, non usare cellulari (non c’è campo quindi non funzionerebbero comunque!) e scattare foto solo se autorizzate! Come partecipare? Acquistando i biglietti direttamente dal sito (la cifra quest’anno si aggirava sui 390 dollari!), magari registrandosi preventivamente in modo da rimanere aggiornati sulle novità. Con questo breve articolo vogliamo lasciare da parte, una volta tanto, le critiche che in tanti hanno rivolto alla trasgressione della manifestazione e mostrarvela, invece, come l’esperimento di una convivenza temporanea basata sulla libertà di espressione artistica e dalla volontà di distaccarsi dalle regole imposte dalla quotidianità del mondo “reale”.
3. THE BLACK ROCK CITY
🇬🇧The city planning is carefully designed with streets and delimitated spaces. Like a real city you can find shops, enterprises and you can also get married! Many people read the Burning man as an anarchic event but, actually, there are strict rules to respect. For example you can’t use money to buy something you can only practice barter or gift, no mobile phones are allowed and you can take pictures only if permitted. How to take part? You can buy tickets directly on the official website (this year the price was around 390 dollars!) and you can register on it to receive news and updatings. With this short post we want to put aside critics about the transgression of the event and we prefer to show it to you as an experiment of temporary cohabitation based on artistic freedom and on the will to get away from daily rules of “real” word.
4. NEI DINTORNI DEL BURNING MAN: I FLY GEISER!
🇮🇹 Ultimo particolare. Se siete interessati, una volta finita la manifestazione, fermatevi a visitare i fly geyser, gli unici geyser che si sono formati naturalmente da un pozzo artificiale. A renderli ancora più unici i colori dovuti al deposito di un’alga particolare nel corso del tempo. I fly geyser si trovano in una proprietà privata di un ranch e per ammirarli bisogna chiedere prima il permesso ai proprietari per l’accesso.
4. BURNING MAN SURROUNDINGS: THE FLY GEISER!
🇬🇧 Last detail. At the end of Burning man you have to stop to see fly geyser, the unique geyser created in natural way from an artificial well. It is so unique also thanks its color due to a strange algae. It is in a private ownership so if you want to admire it you have to asked the permission to the owner of the ranch.
